Rupi Grewal serves as the Chief External Affairs Officer for the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES), overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Communications Office and the Legislative Affairs Office.

Rupi joined the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services after nearly three years at the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SC DHHS) where he lead the agency's Legislative Affairs and Communications efforts. Prior to joining SC DHHS, Rupi spent eight years working in the former DHEC's Office of General Counsel, providing legal counsel on regulation development and Healthcare Quality matters.  Rupi began his career as an Associate Attorney with Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell, LLP in Washington, DC.  Rupi's educational background includes undergraduate (Bachelor of Business Administration) and graduate degrees (Master of Public Health) from Emory University and law degree (JD) from The George Washington University School of Law.
